The National Independent Consumer Organisation (NICO) is a not-for-profit, independent consumer charity that offers an impartial perspective on consumer issues and what ‘good’ looks like for consumers. Ensuring consumer interests are considered and inclusive service provision is the heart of every consumer service working to ensure people are protected, informed, and empowered.

Our independent voice allows us to influence national bodies and support individuals in navigating everyday consumer challenges. One of our key areas of focus is helping people make informed decisions when improving their homes, reducing their energy bills, accessing loans or grants, and choosing the right products to meet their needs.

    NICO is the umbrella organisation for independent consumers. It acts as a collective consumer voice, with a particular focus on issues that are not well addressed. NICO provides independent, evidence-based views in its consumer representation

    NICO is a home for concerned consumers, who want to influence government and businesses to find innovative solutions to ensure that consumer protection is at the heart of government thinking.

  • Expertise

    NICO will provide the expert knowledge and capability continuing the work of the National Consumer Federation, working with key industry and commercial partners to help drive and support important consumer protection initiatives
